In this privacy policy we inform you about the processing of your personal data.

Server log files

Connection data is processed for the purpose of monitoring the technical function and increasing the operational security of our web host. The duration of this processing is limited to 30 days.

The legal basis for this processing is legitimate interest (the unconditional technical necessity of a server log file as the basic data source for error analysis and security measures within the service “website” that you expressly request by visiting) pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Contact form

Our website offers the possibility to contact us directly through a contact form. After the form is submitted, the personal data you entered is processed by the controller for the purpose of handling your request, on the basis of the consent you gave by submitting the form pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, until withdrawn.

There is no statutory or contractual obligation to provide the personal data. The only consequence of not providing it is that you cannot submit your request and we cannot process it.

What is transmitted is the information you enter yourself: name and e-mail address as required fields, plus optionally your phone number, town, the location of the property, the area of use and your message. The request is sent to us as an e-mail; no third-party form service is involved. You then receive a confirmation to the address you provided.

We store the request for as long as it is needed for processing, and beyond that only insofar as statutory retention obligations exist. You can object to further processing at any time without any formality, for example by e-mail.

Web fonts

This website uses the typefaces Sora and Manrope. Both are hosted on this website’s own server. When a page is loaded, no connection to Google or any other provider is established and no data is transferred to them.

Cookies

This website uses as few cookies as possible. Without your consent, exactly one cookie is stored, and only after you have made a decision:

bzv-einwilligung remembers whether you agreed to or declined the visitor statistics. Without this cookie we would have to ask you again on every page view. It contains no personal data and is deleted after 180 days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a working consent management pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

If you agree to the visitor statistics, the cookies described in the next section are added. If you decline, nothing further happens.

You can change your decision at any time. At the bottom of every page you will find the link Change cookie settings.

Visitor statistics with Google Analytics

Only if you expressly agree do we use Google Analytics, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Without your consent the service is not loaded, no connection to Google is established and no data is transferred.

After your consent, the service collects information about which pages are viewed, how long the visit lasts, how you found us, as well as technical information about your browser and device. Your IP address is shortened in the process. For this purpose Google stores cookies (among others _ga and _gid) on your device for up to two years.

We use this analysis to understand which content is read and where our website should be improved.

The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(1) of the German TDDDG. Data may be transferred to the USA in the process. The United States does not have a level of data protection equivalent to that of the European Union; in particular, authorities there may access data without you being informed or able to take action against it. The basis for the transfer is your consent pursuant to Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR.

Your consent remains valid until withdrawn. You can withdraw it at any time via the link Change cookie settings at the bottom of the page. The lawfulness of the processing carried out until then remains unaffected.

What we do not use

For the sake of completeness: this website embeds no maps, no videos from video platforms, no social network buttons, no reCAPTCHA and no advertising networks. There is no profiling and no automated decision-making.

Partner links

On the page “Filtration & water technology” there is a button that leads to the shop of the manufacturer Alb Filter. This is a partner link: if you order there, we receive a commission from the manufacturer. The button is marked as advertising where it appears. The link has no influence on the price, which is set solely by the manufacturer.

When you click it, you leave this website. From there on, the privacy policy of Alb Filter applies. The manufacturer recognises from an identifier in the address that you came via us and usually stores this as a cookie in your browser. We ourselves do not learn who clicked; at most the manufacturer tells us that an order was placed.

Hosting

This website is operated by a service provider in Germany that processes the data exclusively on our behalf and according to our instructions. Beyond providing the website, no data is analysed there.

Right to object

Insofar as the processing of your personal data is based on legitimate interest, you have the right to object to this processing.

Unless there are compelling legitimate grounds for the processing on our part, the processing of your data on this legal basis will be discontinued.

You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data for the purpose of direct marketing. In the event of an objection, your personal data will no longer be processed for the purpose of direct marketing.

The lawfulness of the data processed up to the objection is not affected by the objection.

Right of withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw consent you have already given at any time by changing the privacy settings.

In the case of consent to receive electronic advertising, you can withdraw your consent by clicking the unsubscribe link. In that case, processing will be discontinued unless another legal basis exists.

The lawfulness of the data processed up to the withdrawal is not affected by the withdrawal.

Your rights

You also have the right to information about, rectification of, erasure of and restriction of the processing of your personal data.

Insofar as the legal basis for the processing of your personal data is your consent or a contract concluded with you, you additionally have the right to data portability.

Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
