Only in combination with the EVOfilter
The EVObooster sits downstream of the EVOfilter and enriches the already filtered water with molecular hydrogen. It cannot be operated without the filter system in front of it: the water passes out of the filter into the booster, which is why it is only available in this combination.
The enrichment runs through a patented proton exchange membrane. About one per cent of the water is directed into the membrane and split there into hydrogen and oxygen, while the remaining 99 per cent flows through unchanged. The oxygen is deliberately discharged so that no by-products such as ozone are formed. The hydrogen enters the flowing water in pulses as a gas, neutral in smell and taste.

The 1 % principle: why less through the cell means more power in the glass
At first glance, the statement that only 1 % of the water flows through the membrane looks like a contradiction. In truth it is the greatest technical stroke of genius of the EVObooster, and the reason why Bluezone Vita chose Evodrop rather than another device.
The physical background
From a single millilitre of water, electrolysis produces more than 1.2 litres of pure hydrogen gas (H₂). Hydrogen is the smallest element in the universe. It takes extremely little water to release gigantic quantities of gas molecules.
Full pressure at the tap (99 % free flow)
Conventional systems force all of the water through fine filter and electrolysis units. The result is a noticeable loss of pressure and a tired trickle from the tap. Evodrop lets 99 % of your water pass by unimpeded. You keep the familiar, strong jet of water.
Maximum H₂ saturation without waste
The highly concentrated gas produced in the 1 % bypass is injected in pulses directly into the main stream flowing past. The water absorbs the gas up to close to the physical saturation limit. If more than 1 % were sent through the cell, the cell would produce more gas than water can physically bind. The excess gas would simply fizzle away.
No wear, no heat
Because the PEM cell is not flooded with huge quantities of water, it works extremely gently, does not heat up and does not scale. That makes for a long service life without loss of performance.

How long does the hydrogen stay in the water?
Hydrogen water freshly drawn from a professional under-sink unit such as the EVObooster loses its dissolved hydrogen over time, because H₂ is the smallest and most volatile molecule in the universe. It gradually escapes from the water into the room air. The shelf life depends heavily on the container and how it is filled.

- Drinking it straight away is ideal: hydrogen water is at its best (highest H₂ concentration) when it is drawn fresh from the tap straight into the glass.
- The “brim-full trick” for on the go: if you want to take the water with you (for example in the car or to sport), use a stainless-steel or double-walled glass bottle and fill it right up to the neck so that no air collects at the top of the bottle.
- Store it cool: in cold water, dissolved gas stays physically stable and bound. From the fridge, the hydrogen keeps noticeably longer in a closed bottle than in summer heat in the car.
EVObooster or a classic ioniser?
Both enrich water with hydrogen, in quite different ways. One splits the water by electrolysis and raises the pH value, the other dissolves the hydrogen through a membrane and leaves the pH value as it is. On top of that there are differences in installation, space requirements and hygiene.
